Low pressure developed south of eastern North Carolina during the evening of February 9th, then lifted northeast offshore of the coast on February 10th. This low produced widespread precipitation over the area, with mostly snow north, to a mix to mostly rain south. Several counties near the Albemarle Sound received several inches of snowfall.
