Winter Weather - Winter Storm Database

Introduction Precipitation Types Atmospheric Patterns Impacts Climatology

The Winter Storm Database is a searchable history of North Carolina's major wintry events since 1959.

The data in this tool comes from NOAA's Storm Data publications, the National Climatic Data Center's Storm Events Database, and analyses compiled by State Climate Office staff and students.

When using the search tool below, note that event type information is not county-specific. So a search for sleet events and events in Alamance County will return any events in which sleet was reported somewhere in the state and in which Alamance County was affected, but not necessarily events in which Alamance County received sleet.
